Meet Brian Day

Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and 12 years of martial arts expertise

I walked into a Tim Hortons and saw a guy wearing a Tecumseh Jiu-Jitsu shirt. I approached him and asked, "How do I get into Jiu-Jitsu?" He turned around, about to say something, when his friend said, "Here is my address." That's how I met Ray Dupree. He instructed me for about a year and left for a new opportunity elsewhere. He advised me that if I walked into an academy and they greeted me warmly, that was the place to be.

I had visited a couple of places where they either talked to me at the end of class or never noticed me.

In 2013, I went to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy of Windsor, and Steve greeted me in less than a minute. That's where I decided to stay.

I started Jiu-Jitsu in 2012 and found Caique Jiu-Jitsu in 2013. I currently hold a brown belt and enjoy instructing kids' classes. I believe that's where you gain the best understanding during your formative years.

My journey also includes representing our school in local and regional tournaments, and I still have the passion to compete.
