2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with over 20 years of martial arts expertise.

Jeff started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in August 2003. His life-changing adventure began at Mizudo Academy Of Martial Arts in Dearborn, Michigan, under the watchful eye of red and black belt master Carlos “Caique” Elias. He is especially proud to be associated with Team Caique, as Master Caique has consistently implemented strict guidelines for his affiliated instructors and their students, where many others have swayed. 
 

 

Jeff continuously trains closely with our affiliate Caique black-belt instructors, Professor Harvy Berman, Professor Brandon Mcdaniel, and Professor Angelo Popofski from the highly reputable, well-respected Warrior Way Martial Arts in Commerce Township, Michigan.

 

Not only has Jeff successfully competed in several Jiu-Jitsu tournaments across Michigan, but he is also a certified Gracie Survival Tactics for Law Enforcement instructor. During his 22 years of service with the Detroit Police, he has taught the survival aspects of jiu-jitsu self-defence to recruits and in-service officers. Skills he also teaches to his students. Jeff’s students receive unique insight from his experience applying many jiu-jitsu techniques in real-life situations. The techniques and control aspect of jiu-jitsu have unquestionably helped keep him safe on the streets of Detroit. 

 

Jeff is currently a Deputy with the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office. He takes great pride in creating an environment where new students can learn safely and provides necessary challenges for experienced students to excel to their full potential
